Valentina and Sara were bored at home, each at opposite ends of the sofa.

“If we don’t go out now, I’m going to argue with you for sport,” Valentina said.

Sara laughed.

“You don’t need an excuse to argue.”

They went for a walk, and halfway there, Valentina had a craving:

“I want a blackberry and mango frappé.”

“Don’t complain later,” Sara warned.

They bought one: a deep purple, cold, with bits of mango glistening on top. They went to the park and shared it amidst laughter, gentle shoves, and knowing glances.

“It’s too good,” Valentina said, drinking almost all of it.

“You’re going to finish it all yourself,” Sara said.

They kept walking when Valentina slowed down.

“Wait… something’s not right.” She put her hand to her stomach.

“I think mixing blackberry and mango was a bad idea…” Sara laughed.

“I told you so!” “Don’t laugh, it really hurts.” Sara opened her bag.

“Relax, I have some wipes… just in case.” They looked at each other and burst into nervous laughter.

“I can’t hold it any longer, I’m going to relieve myself in the plastic diaper I luckily put on in case something happened.”

“You argue, you choose the frappuccino… and it makes you sick.” Valentina pointed out:

“Next time you choose… but I still blame you.” And between laughs, they understood that not all cravings go well… but they do leave a lasting impression.
