Sarah woke with a start in the middle of the night. As soon as she opened her eyes, she felt a terrible pressure in her stomach. She nearly tripped over the covers and ran to the bathroom, clutching her abdomen, her heart pounding desperately.

Every second felt like an eternity. She managed to close the door just in time, and as soon as she sat down, a wave of relief washed over her. Her shoulders relaxed instantly, and she let out a long sigh as she rested her head against the cold wall.

“Oh, thank God…!” she murmured between tired laughs.

Just a minute ago, she had been pacing back and forth, feeling like she wouldn’t make it, but now everything was calm. The silence of the early morning slowly returned as Sarah stood there, recovering from the shock and grateful to have made it in time.
