It was costume night.

Sara, in her bunny costume, and Laura, in her mouse costume, were sitting on the couch laughing at how cute they looked.

“We look like we’re in a movie!” said Laura, wagging her mouse tail.

“Yeah, except you’d be the naughty mouse and I’d be the elegant bunny,” replied Sara, laughing.

Suddenly, something strange happened…

A mysterious smell began to fill the room. They looked at each other suspiciously.

“Hey, was that you?” asked Sara.

“Of course not,” replied Laura, wrinkling her nose. “It must have been that balloon on the floor.”

They started laughing uncontrollably, searching for the source of the smell. They checked everywhere, even the couch, but found nothing.

Finally, they decided to smell their own butts. They put their faces to each other’s bottoms to savor the scent, still laughing. “Well,” said Sara, “mystery solved. Next time we’ll buy strawberry air freshener.”

And the two of them continued laughing, promising that their next party would smell a little better.
